The wing recipe you need

Not only are chicken wings cheap, but they are also arguably the tastiest cut. Right? I made this dish I call garlic chili chicken wings for a 3-person lunch but it's a great dish to serve at dinner parties. The cooking method is simple but patience is key for this one!

If you have never handled wings before, I recommend watching the video first just to get an idea of how to cut it. Leave a comment on this post or on the TikTok post if you have any questions, otherwise, use the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as possible!

ingredients
  1. Pack of Chicken wings

  2. 1/2 Lemon, 1/2 Lime

  3. 2 tbsp light soy sauce (marinade)

  4. 2 tbsp light soy sauce (finishing sauce)

  5. 1 tbsp salt (marinade)

  6. 1 tsp salt (finishing sauce)

  7. sprinkle dried crushed chilies

  8. 5 cloves of garlic

  9. 2 large red chilies

  10. 2 spring onions

  11. 1/2 tbsp gochujang paste

  12. 1 tsp msg

  13. 2-3 tbsp sweet soy sauce (substitute: 1 tbsp of brown sugar)

Prep note:

- Roughly chop up the garlic and chilies.

- Cut the spring onions in half so you are left with half of the greener side and half of the white side. Oblique cut the white side and finely slice the green side. Keep them separated.

method

  1. Prep your wings by splitting the drum and flats (see video) and place them in a bowl. After this, squeeze in the lemon and lime then add the soy sauce, salt, and crushed chilies. Let the wings marinate for a minimum of 10 minutes.

  2. Put your pan on medium heat with enough oil to shallow fry the wings. Once your oil is hot, place your chicken wings in to fry. Make sure you keep them frying on medium-low heat. Only touch your wings when it's time to turn the over. Each side should take around 6-7 minutes and you may have to do 2 rounds so as not to overcrowd your pan.

  3. When your wings are done, place them on one side, In the same pan, take some of the oil out and fry in your chopped garlic and chilies. Add the gochujang, soy sauce, the whites of the spring onions, and the msg. Stir together drop the chicken wings back in and stir thoroughly again.

  4. Finally, add your desired amount of sweet soy sauce and salt to taste. Dish up and garnish with the greens of the spring onions. Serve and enjoy.
